The Struggle
21 07 10 - 12:53 Another league done and dusted - the Pigs are in a tricky situation. Also, the discs are in!PUL 36 (I think that's the right number) is now done for the Pigs - 6th of 6. It was an even odder season than the last, as we definitely struggled to put the same team on the line each week. The nature of the Pig is that it is a more mature crowd, and life seems to be pulling us in all sorts of directions. The team list dwindled from 15 or so at the start to 6 for our placement game. Most went overseas. Some got caught up in the life/work thing. All I know is that it's not the season that will define us, but the response now.
In short, we need to restock the lines and reconsider where we're headed. Next stop: PUL 37 starting August 18th.
During this league though, we've received our very svelte new brown shirts AND now have official Pig club discs! Very mint, very big-time. Thanks again go to our kind sponsors, Clancy's Fish Pub at Canning Bridge.
Also in the coming soon category, is the seasonal switch of ovals. Hopefully we'll get to stay on at Centenary for the season, but the change will come with days. More news TBA, but there could be some interesting stuff now happening. The Pig will also likely be at Triple D and Phoenix, and appears to be combining forces with MUD for July Dayze, so maybe the tournament season will wake us from our food-coma induced slumber.
